Pelvic Ultrasound

(Transabdominal Only)

$200

A diagnostic transabdominal ultrasound to evaluate the uterus, uterine lining, cervix, ovaries, and surrounding pelvic structures outside of pregnancy.

A Pelvic Ultrasound provides diagnostic imaging of the female pelvic organs and may be used to evaluate pelvic anatomy for a variety of clinical indications. This examination is intended for patients who are not currently pregnant.

What’s Included

  • Diagnostic ultrasound evaluation

  • Interpretation by a board-certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine physician

  • Finalized diagnostic report

What This Ultrasound Evaluates

During your examination, detailed ultrasound imaging and measurements are obtained to evaluate the pelvic anatomy. Depending on what can be visualized and the reason for your examination, the evaluation may include:

  • Uterus

  • Endometrium (uterine lining)

  • Cervix

  • Right and left ovaries

  • Adnexal regions and surrounding pelvic structures

  • Other clinically appropriate findings that can be evaluated through transabdominal imaging

When Should I Schedule?

A Pelvic Ultrasound may be scheduled when diagnostic imaging of the uterus, uterine lining, ovaries, or surrounding pelvic structures is needed.

This examination may be appropriate for a variety of clinical indications where a transabdominal evaluation of the pelvic anatomy is requested or desired.

Preparing for Your Appointment

Please arrive with a comfortably full bladder for your pelvic ultrasound. A full bladder is required to help provide the best possible visualization of the pelvic structures during a transabdominal examination.

All pelvic ultrasounds at First Cherished Moments are performed transabdominally only. We do not perform transvaginal ultrasound examinations. Because certain structures or findings may be more difficult to fully evaluate through a transabdominal approach, additional imaging or follow-up may occasionally be recommended.

After scheduling, you’ll receive an email with important pre-appointment information and paperwork to review. All required forms will be completed and signed in the studio at your appointment.

Your Results

Your ultrasound will be performed by a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) and submitted for interpretation by a board-certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine physician.

Your sonographer cannot provide or interpret diagnostic findings during your appointment. Once the examination has been reviewed, a finalized diagnostic report will be provided according to your selected report-delivery preferences and can be shared with your healthcare provider.

Please Note

Because this examination is performed transabdominally only, visualization may be limited depending on individual anatomy and the clinical indication for the examination. Ultrasound findings may occasionally require additional imaging, including transvaginal imaging, follow-up, or further evaluation by your healthcare provider.

A Pelvic Ultrasound at First Cherished Moments does not replace routine gynecologic care or an established relationship with a healthcare provider.
